From the Connaught – Night Views of the Gore 1920s
Two spectacular night photos from the top of the Royal Connaught Hotel by William A. Chatfield (1904-1957). The first undated photo (probably mid-1920s) shows the bright street lighting in and around Gore Park, and out along York street.
The second photograph from virtually the same location shows the carnival set up in and around Gore Park as part of the City of Hamilton’s 1927 observance of the Diamond Jubilee of Confederation.
